The characteristics of nylon-ammonium double-sided fabrics originate from the dual effects of fiber performance synergy and double-sided structural design:

  1. Fiber synergy mechanism: The molecular chain of nylon fiber contains amide bonds, which has high breaking strength and excellent wear resistance, giving the fabric the characteristics of being stiff and not easily deformed; spandex fiber (content 5%-20%) is a polyurethane elastic fiber, and the soft segment structure of the molecular chain can be stretched to 4-7 times its original length, with a rebound rate of more than 95%, providing lasting elasticity to the fabric; after the two are blended, the performance balance of "shaping is not tight, wear resistance is not stiff" is achieved.

  2. Double-sided structure forming principle: Double-sided circular knitting is used. Nylon and spandex are evenly blended in the warp and weft yarns, and the upper and lower needle beds are synchronously looped to form a double-sided homogeneous or heterogeneous structure - a homogeneous structure has the same texture on both sides and a uniform touch; the heterogeneous structure can achieve a differentiated effect of smooth on one side and brushed on the other to meet the needs of different scenarios. The production of nylon double-sided fabrics is divided into three core links: raw material pretreatment - double-sided weaving - finishing. Each step requires precise control of parameters:

  1. Raw material pretreatment: nylon filament (commonly used in 70D/24F, 100D/36F specifications) needs to be pre-drafted to increase yarn strength; spandex yarn needs to be wrapped with nylon yarn to make core-spun yarn to avoid breakage of the spandex yarn during weaving. The spandex content of the core-spun yarn is adjusted to 8%-15% according to demand.

  2. Double-sided weaving process

    • A double-sided circular knitting machine is used, with a needle pitch of 28G-32G, and the warp tension is controlled at 15-20cN. The weft yarn feeding speed is synchronized with the needle bed speed to ensure symmetry of the double-sided texture; an antistatic agent needs to be applied during weaving to prevent the yarn from fluffing and wrapping around the stitches;

    • The weight of the fabric is controlled at 120-250g/㎡. The thin version is suitable for underwear and base layer shirts, and the thick version is suitable for sports coats and yoga pants.

  3. Post-finishing process: First, it is pre-shaped at 150-160°C to eliminate the internal stress of the weaving, and then dyed with acid dyes (suitable for nylon). The dyeing temperature is controlled at 95-100°C to avoid high temperature damage to the elasticity of the spandex; finally, soft finishing, antibacterial finishing or moisture-wicking finishing is performed to enhance the additional functions of the fabric. The final setting temperature of the finished product does not exceed 140°C.

  • Stacking requirements: Rolled fabrics should be placed vertically to avoid fabric deformation caused by heavy pressure; fabrics of different colors should be stored separately to prevent dye migration; fabrics should be sealed and packaged to isolate dust and moisture.

  • Washing method: Use neutral detergent, hand wash in cold water or gentle machine wash (put in a laundry bag), avoid vigorous rubbing to prevent the spandex filaments from breaking and the elasticity of the fabric to decrease; it is forbidden to use excessive amounts of bleach and softener to avoid damaging the fibers;

  • Drying and ironing: Lay flat to dry in a cool and ventilated place, prohibit exposure to the sun; if ironing is required, control the temperature below 120°C, iron with a cloth at low temperature, and avoid directly ironing the surface of the fabric;

  • Special note: Avoid friction with sharp objects when wearing to prevent snagging; the elasticity of the fabric will decay with time, so avoid long-term stretching and storage.
