Nylon double-sided fabric is a double-sided knitted fabric with nylon fiber as the main body and spandex fiber as the elastic component. Both its front and back sides present a flat and dense structure. It combines the wear resistance and smoothness of nylon and the high elasticity and rebound properties of spandex. It is soft to the touch and has strong fit. It is one of the core fabrics in sportswear, underwear, fashionable women's clothing and other fields.

1. Principles: The core logic of double-sided structure and elastic collaboration

The core advantage of nylon-ammonium double-sided fabric comes from the complementary performance of the double-sided knitted structure design and nylon-ammonium fiber.

  1. Structural principle: It is woven using a double-sided knitting machine, and the upper and lower needles of the needle bed are synchronously formed into loops, so that the front and back sides of the fabric form a smooth texture with no obvious difference.

  2. Principle of elasticity: Spandex fiber is integrated into nylon yarn in the form of core-spun yarn. The high elasticity of spandex (elongation at break exceeds 500%) provides basic stretch resilience properties for the fabric.   1. Raw material ratio: The mainstream ratio is nylon 80%~90% + spandex 10%~20%. The higher the spandex ratio, the stronger the elasticity. The higher the nylon ratio, the more wear-resistant and smooth the fabric is. The ratio can be adjusted according to the application scenario.

  2. Yarn preparation: Spandex yarn is used as the core yarn, and the nylon filament is coated with the outer layer to make a nylon-spandex core-spun yarn, which not only prevents spandex from directly contacting the skin and causes irritation, but also improves the gloss and wear resistance of the yarn.

  3. Double-sided weaving: A computer-controlled double-sided knitting machine is used. The upper and lower needle beds work together to weave with plain or small jacquard weave. The yarn tension is controlled evenly to ensure that the thickness of the front and back of the fabric is consistent and there is no difference in feel. During the weaving process, the stretch of the spandex needs to be accurately adjusted to prevent uneven elasticity distribution.

  4. Post-finishing process: It goes through pre-shrinking, scouring, dyeing, shaping, softening and other processes in sequence. The pre-shrinking process reduces the fabric shrinkage to less than 3%, the shaping process fixes the fabric size and elasticity, and the soft finishing improves the smoothness of the touch to meet the needs of close-fitting wear.

  • Sportswear field: It is the first choice fabric for yoga wear, fitness wear, and tight-fitting cycling wear. Its high elasticity can adapt to large-scale movements of the limbs, and its dense structure can reduce motion friction. At the same time, the moisture-absorbing and perspiration performance of nylon can quickly discharge sweat and keep the body surface dry.

  • In the field of intimate underwear: used to make seamless underwear, thermal underwear, leggings, etc., the double-sided flat structure avoids marks, the soft and smooth touch improves wearing comfort, and the elasticity fits the body shape without being tight.

  • Fashion women's clothing field: It can be used to make dresses, tight T-shirts, skirts, etc. The fabric has both drape and elasticity, which can show the slimming effect of the clothing. At the same time, it is wear-resistant and anti-wrinkle, making it easy to wear and care for daily.

4. Maintenance: maintenance skills to extend the life of fabrics

  1. Washing requirements: It is recommended to hand wash or machine wash gently in cold water (water temperature ≤ 30°C). When washing in a machine, put it in a laundry bag to avoid mixing with rough clothes and causing snagging; chlorine-containing bleach is prohibited to prevent yellowing of nylon fibers and attenuation of elasticity of spandex.

  2. Drying method: Lay flat in the shade or dry at low temperature on the opposite side to avoid sunlight exposure. Long-term exposure of nylon is easy to fade and age, and exposure of spandex to the sun will accelerate elasticity failure; do not wring it hard to prevent the fabric from deforming.

  3. Ironing and storage: The ironing temperature should be controlled at 120℃~140℃. When ironing, a layer of wet cloth should be placed to avoid direct contact with the fabric at high temperatures. When stored, fold it flat to avoid stretching and deformation of the fabric caused by hanging for a long time. Keep away from sharp objects to prevent snagging.
