Spandex super-soft composite polyester-spandex jersey is a high-performance knitted fabric that combines the core advantages of polyester and spandex. It is created through scientific composite principles and precise technology. It has multiple properties such as super-soft touch, high elastic recovery, breathability and moisture absorption. It is widely adaptable to multiple scenarios and is one of the mainstream choices for functional fabrics in the textile industry.
The fabric uses polyester (polyester fiber) and spandex (polyurethane fiber) as core raw materials and follows the design logic of "complementary performance". Polyester contributes high strength, wear resistance and morphological stability, solving the problem of easy wear and tear of pure spandex; spandex gives the fabric 6-8 times stretch and rebound ability, ensuring a close-fitting and unconstrained wearing experience. Through special composite technology, the two fibers form a network interwoven structure, filling the fiber gaps while building breathable channels. This not only makes up for the shortcomings of polyester's poor hygroscopicity, but also improves the problem of insufficient air permeability of spandex, achieving a triple balance of "strength + softness + breathability".
Raw material pretreatment: polyester yarn is impregnated with chitosan solution and loaded with polysaccharide coating, and spandex yarn is adhered to the cuprammonium fiber and polylactic acid composite layer through shellac liquid to improve subsequent bonding stability.
Spinning and weaving: Using 80Dtex-130Dtex porous polyester elastic yarn and 20Dtex-40Dtex spandex yarn, weaved by a single-sided open-width machine, with polyester accounting for 80%-94% and spandex accounting for 6%-20%. The core-spun or covered yarn process ensures uniform fiber distribution.
Post-dyeing treatment: Wash with ethanol and water to expose the pores, use high-fastness disperse dyes for low-temperature dyeing (to avoid damage to the spandex), and use reduction cleaning to remove floating colors. Finally, it is gently set at 150-160°C to ensure color fastness and softness.
With its ultra-soft touch and functional advantages, this fabric has a wide range of application scenarios:
Close-fitting clothing: underwear, seamless vests, etc., relying on skin-friendly properties and moderate elasticity to achieve a "naked" wearing experience;
Sports clothing: yoga clothes, running T-shirts, fitness pants, etc., with high elasticity and recovery to adapt to limb stretching, and moisture wicking function to keep you dry during exercise;
Daily clothing: women's clothing, home clothing, baby clothing, etc., anti-wrinkle and easy care features meet the needs of fast-paced life;
Outdoor equipment: mountaineering clothing, hiking pants, etc., which are both wear-resistant and breathable, and can be worn in complex environments.
Washing method: Use mild detergent, the water temperature does not exceed 40°C, avoid strong scrubbing and chlorine bleaching to prevent damage to the elasticity of the spandex;
Dry and store: Wash and dry naturally to avoid fading caused by long-term exposure to the sun. Avoid contact with sharp objects during storage to prevent snagging;
Care taboos: Do not iron or iron at low temperature to avoid high temperature damage to the fiber structure. Wash dark and light colored clothes separately to prevent staining.
Key technical parameters: elastic recovery rate ≥93%, anti-pilling grade up to grade 4.0, color fastness to washing above grade 3.5, ensuring long-term stability;
Functional innovation: integrated with moisture absorption, quick-drying, antibacterial, anti-ultraviolet and other composite functions, some products use silver ion coating or phase change microcapsule technology to meet special needs;
Environmentally friendly upgrade: Using recycled polyester (RPET) and bio-based spandex raw materials, water consumption is reduced through the airflow dyeing process, and the reclaimed water reuse rate is up to 92%.
With the advancement of consumption upgrades and environmental protection policies, this fabric is showing three major development directions: First, the green transformation is accelerating, the proportion of recycled fiber applications is increasing, the carbon footprint continues to decrease, and GRS certified products have become the mainstream of the market; second, functional integration is deepening, and technologies such as temperature sensing and intelligent monitoring are gradually integrated to meet the needs of segmented scenarios; third, production is intelligent, and "weaving-dying-finishing" collaboration is achieved through digital workshops, shortening the research and development cycle and improving quality stability. It is expected that the domestic high-end polyurethane fabric market will account for 45% in 2026, and this fabric will continue to lead the functional knitted fabric track with its comprehensive advantages.
